A little care in the first weeks sets your new plants up for years of growth.

Pot them up
Pot new bare-root plants in quality organic compost or potting mix so they can grow roots before going in the ground.

Size & drainage
Pick a container that fits the roots comfortably, and make sure it drains well.

Water, then wait
Water thoroughly, then let the soil dry over several days before watering again.

Plant out
After a few weeks to a month, move your plant into its permanent spot in the garden or orchard.
